Two spacious and fully modernised self catering gites set in the magnificent and unspoilt countryside of the Aude and Ariege in the south of France.
Our gites are surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside and woods and form part of a typical Lauragais farmstead. There are lots of wonderful walks right on your doorstep offering spectacular views of the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noir. Bird and wildlife abound here and in the early summer you can pick the cherries from the trees and gather the alpine strawberries which grow along the footpaths.
The enchanting Cite de Mirepoix (pop 3,000) lies six miles away where you will discover lots of friendly cafe bars, restaurants to suit all pockets and plenty of shops. Every Monday morning Mirepoix plays host to what is generally said to be one of the best local produce markets in the south of France. The quality of the food and wine is superb. Not to be missed!
Romantic Cite de Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the largest medieval fortress in Europe, is a forty minute drive away. Carcassonne is served by daily flights from the UK, Ireland and Belgium.
The Pyrenees are under an hour away (nearest ski resort is Mont d'Olmes) and Narbonne Plage on the Mediterranean can be reached within 90 minutes.
Bustling Toulouse, a lively university town and mecca for rugby fans is just over an hour by car.
The diversity of this region is truly amazing. Walking, cycling, caving, water sports,fishing..its all here. Great for family activity holidays and a great place to just relax and unwind.
